Future Perfect

BY ABA KWAWU

In February, when we were in the depths of winter (snowless, but still freezing), I dug out my warm weather jetset gear and got on a plane to Miami. It was a needed escape, but it was also a return to our pre-pandemic expansion plans, palm trees and all.

May I introduce to you: TAA Miami.

TAA has long had a presence in the sophisticated city with a network of friends and clients, but this year–TAA’s 20th–we’re signing on new clients and putting down stakes. It’s a forward-thinking, stylish city–and exactly where we want to grow.

And speaking of forward-thinking, TAA spent last year not only readying to expand geographically, including into Chicago—we’re also diving into the metaverse. See Luxeicon’s story, Brave New World, introducing TAA’s Meta Office. Yes, quite surreal, but we’re making our foray into Web 3.0. We look forward to hosting our clients there soon.

Also in this issue, an interview with our real-life friend Joey Wolffer about the legacy of her family’s wine, Wolffer Estates Vineyard; ahead of my trip to Japan, we feature a tour of Tokyo through the eyes of the ever-charming founders of Daikaya Group; and a peak behind the curtain at D.C.’s wildly inventive restaurant inspired by Afrofuturism, Bronze. Plus, everything you should be doing in D.C. this spring, plus the latest news from TAA’s clients.

And now, it’s time to celebrate! We’re launching this issue on the first day of spring (and my birthday!) as a way to officially usher in a new season of big projects and daring leaps into the future.

We’ll see you in Miami—and the metaverse—soon.

My Best,

Aba Kwawu

President, TAA PR
