A Milestone Birthday

BY ABA KWAWU

This year marks two decades in business for TAA PR. It sounds cliche, but 20 years has flown by. TAA, known as The Aba Agency when we first launched, has survived the early aughts and is still thriving today in a very different world.

As many of you know, I started as a solo act, but over the last 20 years I’ve built a dedicated team that delivers for our clients everyday. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the people in my life–my mentors, my team, my family, my friends–who have helped us get here and I am genuinely excited about what the future holds. At times it feels scary because of the many life-changing world events we have witnessed in recent years and months, but through it all, TAA has continued to innovate and create success for our family of clients.

In this issue, we celebrate 20 years by focusing–as we always do–on changemakers and leaders who are making a difference in the world. Edward Enninful, a fellow Ghanaian, is a personal inspiration and I’m so thrilled he has a new memoir, A Visible Man, out. Our reviewer dives in and explores the new book.

In this issue’s Passport, we visit Barcelona with Ali Shirazinia, the EDM idol known as Dubfire. In The TAA Interview, we chat with Gordon Ramsay, who is bringing a trio of restaurants to DC (Trust me, you’ll want to read it. Ramsay is so much more than his TV persona). My dear friend and longtime boutique owner Nancy Pearlstein shares why she’s returning to the world of menswear this fall.

And finally, why keep our feet on the ground when we can reach for the stars? Jane Poytner, founder of Space Perspective, shares how she broke through the billionaire boys club to create a space travel company focused on the life-changing experience of seeing our blue planet from the cosmos.

I’m truly excited for what the next 20 years holds for TAA and I hope you’ll take some inspiration from this issue of Luxeicon as you dream big, too.
Happy Birthday to us and Cheers (with a Negroni Sbagliato- with prosecco it).

Happy Birthday to us!

My Best,

Aba Kwawu

President, TAA PR
